For outdoor lovers, there are over 150 miles of greenway and over 200 parks for residents to enjoy.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The variety of this state capital is an experience for shopping, dining, and entertainment options. The area is home to many shopping districts that are both walkable and driver-friendly.
 
One district is Cameron Village, where residents can find many local and unique shops as well as a few regional and national chains. Tazza Kitchen is a restaurant offering amazing wood-fired pizza and pasta with a natural industrial decor. Other restaurants include the Flying Biscuit and the Village Deli. 
 
The North Hills Mall offers another selection of trendy shops and restaurants. Browse stores such as REI and Anthropologie, which features boho-chick apparel, and Paysage Home, an eclectic home décor shop. Dining options include Coquette, a traditional French dining establishment with banquettes and outdoor seating.
 
Across from the North Hills Mall is Lassiter at North Hills a mixed-use property with living, dining, and shopping options. Here you can find Vivace, an upscale restaurant with an updated view of Italian cuisine. Also located here is Quintessentials a luxury gift shop that is known throughout the area as the ultimate gift destination.
 
Person Street is known for its many restaurants and trendy shops. Oakwood Pizza Box is a local favorite location for phenomenal pizza, beer, and wine options. Shops along this street consist of many small, locally owned establishments and are a fun area to explore.
 
Scattered throughout the city are a few local bakeries that draw people from all over the region, Boulted Bakery is a rustic-check bakery with locally made bread and pastries featuring organic grains. Layered Croissanterie also has amazing baked goods. At this trendy upscale bakery, you can watch the bread being baked through a large glass wall. Another local gem, Bright Spot Donuts, is a must-stop in the morning. The shop offers a unique selection of doughnuts, breakfast sandwiches, and extraordinary coffee.

Things to Do

The city of Raleigh is full of activities and events for residents. Home to multiple museums, parks, and theaters, there is always something to do here. The North Carolina Museum of Art is a fantastic place to spend the day immersing oneself in art and culture. The museum features a permanent collection of art as well as traveling exhibits. The museum is also home to the Joseph M. Bryan Jr. Amphiteather, that host many performances throughout the year.
 
The Red Hat Amphitheater, located downtown, is a high-tech 500-seat music venue with multiple foods and beverage stalls. The amphitheater hosts many events throughout the year and draws people from all over the area for concerts and other events.
 
The Carolina Country Club is is another place in the city that is perfect for you if you love golf, tennis, and everything a full service club has to offer. The club offers incredible golf on its high-end private course and includes many luxurious amenities, including multiple pools, tennis courts, and excellent dining with historic charm.
 
Get outdoors at Dorothea Dix Park, a vast city park that has many community events and activities. Enjoy yoga in the park, wander the sunflower field or watch a meteor shower. The park is also connected to the Rocky Branch Trail, a popular walking and hiking trail.
